  1. Rebel Assault 1.4 Patch Disk
  2.                                                         
  3.    This patch is intended to fix "Unexpected Interrupt"
  4.    errors and joystick jumpiness.
  5.                                                                      
  6.  1) Unexpected Interrupts
  7.  
  8.      To fix Unexpected Interrupt errors that occur on some
  9.    machines, this patch includes version 1.8 of DOS4GW,
  10.    which will be copied into the REBEL\ directory on your
  11.    C: drive.  This replaces version 1.92, which shipped
  12.    with Rebel Assault 1.0.  Version 1.8 seems more
  13.    compatible with some machines.  However, if you have
  14.    new problems after installing this patch, you can
  15.    copy DOS4GW.EXE from your CD and run the patch as
  16.    directed to take advantage of the joystick fix only.

  18.  2) Joystick Patch
  19.                                                          
  20.      To fix joystick jumpiness, this patch includes a new
  21.    version of ASSAULT.EXE, which will be copied to the
  22.    REBEL\ directory on your C: drive.  In addition, the
  23.    joystick shooting controls have been made less
  24.    sensitive.

  26.      If you still have joystick problems, make sure only
  27.    one joystick port is enabled on your machine,
  28.    preferably the one on your sound card.  Also, center
  29.    the trimmer adjustments on your joystick to make sure
  30.    you are using its full range of movement.

  32.  3) Installing

  34.      From the floppy, type INSTALL.
  35.  
  36.  4) Running the game with the patch.
  37.                                                          
  38.      Now in the future, run the game by typing 'REBEL'
  39.    from the REBEL\ directory on your C: drive,
  40.    NOT from your CD drive.
